Gorbel, Inc
Founded in 1977 in Fairport, NY, by David Reh as a maker of jib cranes used to lift and move products within manufacturing environments. The firm expanded in 1986 to produce enclosed track work station cranes and in 1998 created a new product family called Intelligent Assist Devices. In 2002 Gorbel acquired the assets of Cleveland Tramrail, expanding its crane solution capabilities. Gorbel has manufacturing facilities in Fishers, NY; Pell City, AL; and Tianjin, China.

Two generations of the Reh family are actively involved in Gorbel Inc. David Reh ran the business until 2003, when son Brian Reh took over as company president. David Reh continues to serve as chief executive officer.

Gorbel Inc. employs approximately 200 people.

Gorbel and its employees support the United Way of Ontario County. Each year, the company sponsors the “Carnival of Caring” on its corporate campus, which benefits the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong Memorial Hospital. The firm also helps fund numerous area scholarship initiatives.
