Founded in 1981 by George Braddon Jr., as a manufacturer of expanded polystyrene foam used in packaging. Today, the company continues to make foam used for produce and industrial packaging and also builds and sells the equipment used to make polystyrene foam.Two generations of the Braddon family have been involved in Commodore. George Braddon Jr. is chairman; sons George “Brad” Braddon III (president, Commodore Technology) and Jeff Braddon (vice president of business development, Commodore Plastics), and daughter Anne Hutchens (sales associate) work for the firm.
The company employs 100 people at facilities in Bloomfield and Canandaigua, NY.
Commodore has supported the Bloomfield Fire Department and is currently working on a project to reclaim a stagnant pond that can be used by the department in the event of fire.
